Are john deere excavators made by hitachi?

Are John Deere excavators actually made by Hitachi, or do they just share some components? Curious about the history and differences between the two brands!

Yeah, for a long time, John Deere and Hitachi had a partnership where Hitachi built a lot of Deere’s excavators, especially the bigger ones. But a couple of years ago, they split, and now Deere makes their own. Still some similarities, but they’re doing their own thing now!

Yup, Miguel’s right. Deere and Hitachi were tight for decades, with Hitachi manufacturing a good chunk of Deere’s excavator lineup. That joint venture ended around 2022, though, and now John Deere builds their own machines with their own designs and manufacturing. You’ll still spot a lot of overlap on older models, but the newer ones are definitely more Deere-specific.
