Hey guys,

Compact track loaders are a solid choice for all kinds of jobs, from grading to hauling and everything in between. They handle rough terrain way better than skid steers, but not all models are built the same.

Figured I’d start a discussion on what’s your go-to CTL, and why? A few things I’d love to hear about:

  • Which models hold up the best and don’t guzzle fuel?
  • How do you decide between a CTL and a skid steer for different jobs?
  • Any must-have attachments that make a big difference?
  • What’s your best maintenance tip to keep one running strong?
Let’s hear what’s working for you out in the field.

I’ve had great luck with the Bobcat T770, plenty of power, solid durability, and doesn’t drink fuel like crazy. As for attachments, a good brush cutter has been a game-changer for clearing overgrown areas. Curious to hear what others think about Deere vs. Cat in the CTL world!

I’ve been running a Cat 299D3, and it’s been a beast—smooth controls and solid lifting power. Definitely agree on attachments making a difference; a good mulcher turns it into a whole different machine. Anyone have thoughts on maintenance tricks to keep these running longer?

Some solid picks here! I’ve heard the Cat 299D3 is a tank, but how’s the upkeep on it compared to something like a Bobcat or Deere? Also, for anyone using mulchers, what brand are you running, and how’s it holding up in the long run?

Bobcat T770 and Cat 299D3 both seem to get a lot of love—solid picks! I’m curious too about how maintenance compares between brands. Also, for those running mulchers, how do they hold up over time? Any brands you'd swear by?
