Hey folks,

I've been hearing a lot about Echo chainsaws recently. Are they really as reliable and durable as Stihl or Husqvarna? I know those two brands are often the go-to choices for professional loggers, but I keep seeing Echo pop up in discussions.

Also, is Echo an American company, or do they manufacture their saws elsewhere? I'd love to hear from anyone who has firsthand experience with Echo chainsaws. Are there any standout models for cutting firewood (10-18") and larger logs (20"+)?

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Hey @Hammer&Nail! Echo is actually a Japanese company, but they've been selling in the U.S. for decades. Their U.S. headquarters is in Illinois.

In terms of reliability, they are right up there with Stihl and Husky, though they tend to be more homeowner-focused rather than strictly professional. That being said, their pro models are very solid. The Echo CS-590 Timber Wolf is one of their best mid-range saws, great power for the price!

Echo makes some solid saws, especially for the price! The CS-590 Timber Wolf is a beast for firewood, and I’ve seen guys put it through some serious work without issues. Might not have the same pro-level rep as Stihl or Husky, but for the right job, they hold their own.

I’ve heard good things about the Echo CS-590 too! Seems like a great balance of power and affordability. @Hammer&Nail, are you looking for something for regular firewood cutting, or do you need a saw that can handle more heavy-duty work?

Hey @Hammer&Nail, I’ve used Echo chainsaws for a while, and I have to say, they’re definitely reliable. While Stihl and Husqvarna might be seen as the top pros, Echo’s CS-590 Timber Wolf has impressed me for cutting firewood and handling larger logs. They’re a great balance of power and affordability. Plus, for lighter-duty tasks, I’ve found them just as durable as the big brands!
