Hey everyone, I often see compact loaders being used in tight spaces—what are these small loaders called? Are there different types depending on the job?

I’ve found CTLs to be a game-changer when it comes to handling tough terrains—much better traction and less ground disturbance compared to wheel loaders. Plus, they’re way more stable when moving heavy loads on soft or muddy ground! Anyone here use them for snow removal or landscaping too? Curious about how they perform in those scenarios.

Those small loaders you’re seeing are usually called skid steers or compact track loaders (CTLs)—skid steers have wheels, CTLs run on tracks. Skids are nimble and great on hard surfaces, while CTLs shine on soft or uneven ground. There’s also mini wheel loaders, which are more common in ag or light construction. Depends on the job, but each has its sweet spot! What kind of work are you looking to use one for?
