Hey everyone,

Forklifts come in different types, and electric models rely on batteries to keep them running. But what kinds of batteries do forklifts use, and how do they compare in terms of performance and lifespan?

Some key questions:
  • What are the main types of forklift batteries (lead-acid, lithium-ion, etc.)?
  • How do these battery types differ in terms of charging time, efficiency, and maintenance?
  • Which industries prefer certain battery types over others?
  • What factors should you consider when choosing a forklift battery?
If you’ve worked with electric forklifts, I’d love to hear your experience and recommendations!

Good question! Most forklifts use either lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries. Lead-acid is cheaper but needs more maintenance, while lithium-ion charges faster and lasts longer but costs more upfront. I’ve seen a lot of warehouses switching to lithium-ion for the efficiency. Does anyone here made the switch? Was it worth it?
