Hi.

Why do some bulldozers have high tracks? I’ve noticed that certain models, like Cat dozers, have elevated sprockets while others don’t. Is it just for better traction, or does it help with durability and maintenance? Would love to hear from anyone with experience running them!

Hi @Edel,

High-track bulldozers are designed that way mainly for durability and easier maintenance. The elevated sprockets help reduce wear on the final drive components by keeping them out of the dirt and debris.

Plus, they make it easier to replace track rollers without messing with the entire undercarriage. Definitely a smart design for heavy-duty work!
