That’s why we’re offering a $1,000 annual scholarship to help students pursuing education in heavy machinery-related programs. Whether you're already enrolled or planning to start a program within the next year, this scholarship is open to students attending colleges or trade schools across the United States and Canada.

Our CEO’s journey—from building and selling a startup in under three years to leading a team of over 200—began with access to education. That’s why we’re committed to giving back by offering this scholarship, helping students pursue quality education in the heavy equipment industry, no matter their financial situation.

How To Apply
Students can apply by submitting either:
A 500+ word essay OR
A 2-minute video
Your submission should introduce who you are and share what excites you about the heavy equipment industry. Show us your passion and why you’re pursuing this field!
📅 Deadline: Applications must be submitted by 12:00 PM (Central Time) on March 31, 2026.
🏆 Selection Date: Winners will be announced by April 22, 2026.
💰 Award Distribution: The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the winner’s school as a tuition payment.
Tips
In previous years, we noticed common challenges in scholarship submissions. Here are some tips to help strengthen your application:
Start by including a title and name in your application, along with the subject or field you are currently studying.
Craft your essay specifically for this scholarship. Show us your enthusiasm for the heavy equipment industry - remember, passion is key.
Ensure your essay is well-structured with appropriate paragraphs and formatting. Use a word processor for your essay and refrain from submitting screenshots from note-taking apps or images of handwritten notes.
If you feel you can express yourself better verbally, consider submitting a YouTube video instead. We noticed a lack of video submissions this year and would love to see more in the future.
Finally, please submit your application in PDF format to ensure compatibility and ease of reading.

Founded in Austin, Texas by Adam Lawrence, Samir Shah and Aaron Kline, Boom & Bucket is a digital dealership to buy and sell used heavy equipment. After raising a $5.5 million seed round, the company quickly grew to over 20 employees and has been featured in TechCrunch.
